Old Wine in New Bottles, Why?

We all know by now the world will change the way we worship. Why not restore the first works of Love your neighbors, care for one another, be the Body and wear the Name above all names. What defined the few that waited for the promise of the Father Acts 1:4-5? What turned them from cowards, deserting their King, the Messiah because He did not fit the picture of a King to them? What do you want God to fix today? We pray he breaks the heart of all that love Him and the repentance of their heartfelt tears will flow like the River of Life as we learn to Abide John 15:4

Going back to the dry bones, the entertainment, Why would we? We did a zoom call with elders across the world. That prayer meeting was wonderful Click on highlighted text for more info. http://www.wearechurch.com/church-intensive

When did this beautiful remembrance become a station break between the entertainment and the sage on the stage. Acts 2:42 , We have observed many years of privileged worship without harassment from anyone. This will change as we move from this season of sickness to a season of war? or ? Why is there a guard watching the door or is that Judas leaving?

The lady in the gift shop had asked me what church do you go to ? In our conversation that began somewhere but ended up on God. I was wearing a t-shirt that said ” Jesus is my Savior not Religion”. The lady persisted and after we talked she invited us to her “Church”. We had told her we are followers of Jesus and followed no man made doctrine, creed or religion or divided denominated daughter of the church of Babylon. She had then said something like “We are all followers of Jesus” and she was very correct. We who place our faith in Jesus Christ of the prophecy of Isaiah 9 are all His children. The Jesus of Grace and Truth who said “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life” is the Savior of all who are redeemed by the blood of God’s only Chosen before the foundation of the world, precious Lamb. He is for us the Word became flesh and the Word was/is God. When you see the message of Jesus for all mankind as this amazing love that Paul writes commentary on in his letters to the ekklesias, the trappings of rules and ritual fall away in His presence . When we humans decide to divide up and denominate around men, albeit good men we fall into the trap of the Corinthian Ekklesia following after Apollos, Paul or Peter. Who is the high priest of our congregation? Who are the priests? What are the offices or special appointments to be selected by scripture in the verified letters of Paul and Peter, James, John, Jude, the Apostles by Word of the Spirit of Christ? We crucify Jesus afresh just as David used the throne to do evil, took the one lamb from Uriah and sinned. Like King David are those that allow the easy money, the power of control over others to capture their heart in obedience to Satan. These are the grievous wolves of warning to the elders of the early Ekklesia Is this word familiar to you? Click here for the Greek and 111 times it is used in the New Testament of your translation,

The word was used to define a location after Luther translated the German word to mean a location. Early communities of faith always built or used a structure to serve the needs of the people. These structures were used as community schools, storehouses, hideouts and more. Never the grand buildings we see now. (early records around 250AD on) Never did the early followers think that Ekklesia was a place to go. No where is evidence of the excessive spending, the widespread use of pagan temples and pagan priesthood until after 300AD. Constantine flipped the pagan world upside down and incorporated many practices in his new model of religion. The history of how he propagandized what influence he had, during that time is well documented and an easy google search . If you are an agnostic or atheist because of this historical fact, please reconsider, Jesus lives! Use the word “Church” how you like but know what you are saying. Here is a technical description of the translated word Kirk, Kirche, church and how it got in the bible as Church instead of the word Ekklesia which means something totally different. http://www.aggressivechristianity.net/articles/ecclesia.htm

A compendium of quotations culled from the ten volume Ante-Nicene Fathers and arranged by subject for quick reference. The quotes include comments on 700 theological, moral, and historical topics from prominent figures such as Origen, Clement of Alexandria, Clement of Rome, and Hippolytus.

This book is an eye opener. Mr. Bercot has used a lawyer and scribes’ mind to summarize and collect the writings of the early church before the corruption of Constantine. If you would like a copy give me a call or pm https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MBGNG66/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_hsch_vapi_taft_p1_i0h

That is pretty! But I want to know what the first copy said, not the last ones. The Holy Spirit is promised to bring us into all truth. We are blessed with God’s wisdom on tap for a sincere prayer of Faith to the obedient servant. When can we see God? When can we walk with him? When we love Him more than we do our life. We have one word to obey. Galatians 5:14, We have one law to obey, the “Perfect Law of Liberty”
We have a model for this. Is it from the original record or the Renaissance period? If we look at the model can we find the practice in the New Agreement? Do you follow this model or the one in the Corinthian Ekklesia from the First Century?

New Wine http://www.wearechurch.com/structure-1

Of course Jesus used this metaphor, the common use of wine skins made of animal hides and other parts. These would work for the life of the vintage inside if consumed in a few weeks and then if allowed to dry out would burst if refilled. Totally biodegradable but the practice kept tanners busy making wine skins. I am sure the common people did not treat these containers with any more regard than we do a recyclable water bottle after they burst, no one tried to repair them, just catch another goat. Here is the record in Mark 2, Click on the words for the Greek meaning  , Mark 2:15 And it happened that He was reclining at the table in his house, and many tax collectors and sinners were dining with Jesus and His disciples; for there weremany of them, and they were following Him. 16 When the scribes of the Pharisees saw that He was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they said to His disciples, “Why is He eating and drinking with tax collectors and sinners?” 17 And hearing this, Jesuss aid to them, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” 18John’sdisciples and the Pharisees were fasting; and they came and said to Him, “Why* do John’sdisciples and the disciples of the Phariseesfast, but Your disciples do not fast?” 19 And Jesussaid to them, “While* the bridegroom is with them, the attendants of the bridegroomcannotfast, can they? Solong as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot*fast20 “But the days will comewhen thebridegroom is takenaway from them, and then they will fast in that day21“Noonesews a patch ofunshrunkcloth on an oldgarmentotherwise the patchpullsaway from it, the new from the old, and aworsetearresults22“No oneputsnewwine into oldwineskinsotherwise the wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost and the skins as well; but one puts new wine into fresh wineskins.”

The wine skins have burst. The Ekklesia of Jesus is not a new covenant made up of old parts. Nor is the New Covenant a list of rules, rituals and regulations requiring lawyers and scribes or high Priests in costumes or temples with holy shrines to whois and whatfor? The Ekklesia of Jesus begins with 2 or more. The Ekklesia never ends with just 2. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit will never inhabit a temple made with hands or bless the idol worship of the “building” or useless things over the maker. Everything physical is a tool to be used or discarded for the Glory of God and our Lord Jesus who proved His word with the resurrection from the dead after a full course Roman Crucifixion.

The teaching of the wine skin is that the new agreement is final until God makes a new one. Humans broke the promise/covenant every time. God did not break His side of any agreement. Broken covenants are never reused. We are in the new agreement/covenant. To go back and drag something that did not work to save us or give us Grace is to insult Jesus as saying His sacrifice was not enough to satisfy the wrath of God’s justice. No gentile was required to read, understand or know about the Torah or Moses. Read with earnest prayer 2 Corinthians 3 and welcome Jesus the Author and finisher of your Faith https://www.biblestudytools.com/nas/2-corinthians/3.html

The Hebrew Passover lasted 7-8 days and involved feasts and meals with family, relatives and friends. Our “Love Feasts” should be as joyful and festive in celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus in the New Covenant. Abba Father!

I first saw the renaissance paintings when I was a kid and now know they teach tales and myths for the most part and poor theology if half way correct. I was also disappointed when I found out Charlton Heston was not Moses.

Love to hear about your Ekklesia wherever it is. In a traditional model or not, wherever you are gathered in His Name. https://www.biblestudytools.com/lexicons/greek/nas/hupakoe.html

Philistine Cart of our own doing

Many houses of straw will fall to never rise. The Temple built of Living Stones will stand. We are the Royal Priesthood of the New Covenant 1 Peter 2:9

The Holy Spirit leads into all truth. All knowledge and wisdom. All is in the mind of God. We have to become one with Him. Many try to get to God listening to all the voices shouting. The simple gospel is so simple. We have one law or rule or tenet or doctrine and we can’t agree with a plain statement from Jesus; repeated by John, Paul and Peter. Here is the mystery revealed, the secrets are here now 1 John 3:23, Gal 5:14, 1 Peter 1:22-23 the rest is religion

https://www.wearechurchreading.com/

The crowd responded in Acts 2 many already believed, they were heartbroken,v38 Pete told them what to do. v39 to all, v41 , v42 continued in the apostle’s doctrine, which will include Paul’s later. Acts 5:31-32 Cheers! That is true what Paul said but the taken out of context, He did not want people bragging and divided, Paul said “Some are for Luther, Some are for Calvin, some are for Wesley” well he did not say those names but you get it if you read it. “Is Christ Divided? ” 1 Corinthians 3, We read Acts 18 prayerfully, Acts 18:8 “The Corinthians hearing believed and were baptized” 1 Cor 12:13, “For by one Spirit” Eph 4:1-6, Acts 1:4, Acts 2 The Promise of the Father” to all that – Acts 5:32 Cheers!

A Promise of the Father https://youtu.be/GxsgmDdoDQ0

Calvin, Luther, later Wesley followed the error of Zwingli and this false doctrine theology has caused millions to miss being washed in the Blood. Know the history before the warring theologians took over the many divided denominations. When the divisive theology is so contradictory the teachers have to write volumes to justify all the proof texts, When the “Plowboy” of William Tyndale’s day- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Tyndale

can not understand without special “knowledge”or latterday revelations that is wrong! The Holy Spirit reveals all Truth to those that empty themselves of self by death to the flesh. The Holy Spirit can’t fill a temple full of idols to self, or vain pride. The ego has to go in a clean sweep so the Wonderful Counselor can do His work. John 6 explains this in graphic detail. v 53 We must eat the Bread of Life and share the Flesh and Blood by consuming the body and blood or, Jesus also sez in v35 “never hungry and thirsty” as in John 4 when Jesus declares the Water of Life is free and that God is Spirit, Worship is everywhere for the followers, no holy location anymore. Jesus explains the Work of God! John 6:29, This is the “Flesh profits nothing” of v63, the ritual is not the point, the communion of believers as “One” body is the whole point. Later pagan priests adapted the simple “Love Feast’ of “Breaking Bread “with the family of followers into a ritual work, full of rules and time restraints among other glosses. The “anti Christ” denied the Cup to the sheep claiming superior sainthood and other honors not found in the Word. The simple Gospel was done before 100AD, not during the reformation or after Constantine or St Augustine of Hippo twisted doctrine around the Whore of Babylon’s finger. History can be verified. Know the truth. Acts 5:32, Romans 6 Titus 3:4-5, Acts 1:4, Acts 2. Grace is a salvation gift. The “Thief” who was indisposed with dying, as was our Lord. The old covenant was in effect until “It is Finished”. The “Promise of the Father” was promised by Jesus in Luke and Acts 1:4, The disciple/apostles all spoke in Tongues a sign gift of the Holy Spirit during the delivery, Peter preached a Truth Gift in the use of the two Keys of the Kingdom, Calling on the Name of the Lord they obeyed, Confessing in Repentance, submitting in water immersion, nothing else was practiced until after 125 AD (See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Didache for what the early followers practiced in Ad 100-125) This is a historical document that shows the normative practice of some early followers of Jesus during the first part of the 2nd cent. In no way is this scripture or binding. It is a historical artifact and verifiable as such. The Corinthians heard the gospel, believed it and obeyed it Acts 18:8. Read God’s Word for yourself and ask the Holy Spirit for knowledge, ask the wonderful counselor. Read the Word without commentary, but much prayer.

oing, is the divisions and mixed up messages trying to all say the same thing does not present a lovable Jesus no matter how nice the brochure or facility. Love the “Commands and Traditions”  Many of the traditions are expedient for that season or purpose but Hey! they are tools like using Pete’s boat to teach from, no more holy altars beside our knees. Too many traditions block our sight to see Him! Too many “Commands” are blocked by traditions.

We feel the relationship model is the design going forward that will make a difference one soul at a time. As we Jean and I enjoy our communion with our Lord together one day at a time during this season of uncertainty in the world. We have perfect peace knowing He has promised us to be together as One. Amen Come Lord Jesus.

Acts 2, Peter gave the verification Acts 5:32, After the promise of the Holy Spirit is poured out, Only the arrogant will construct houses of straw to defend the right to be like the thief. The disciples of John’s immersion for repentance were all in the old covenant rules until the pouring out on Pentecost. Acts 17-18 is clear they were immersed into Christ. To refuse to obey a clear command of Jesus. or to meekly follow His example to obey all rightness. 1 Peter 3, Titus 3, Col 2, Romans 6, Acts 22:16 “Wash away your sins” We know the Grace of God saves us not anything we do as a follower changes that fact of Eph 2, yet the Faith of action described in Hebrews 11 shows that acts of faith are not works of the law. We could be saved by works of God’s law IF we could keep all the law perfectly. No one has done that. except for Jesus as the Messiah. A perfect Lamb of God, a perfect sacrifice for the sins of the World. We must have Grace! God’s great justice demands payment for sin, we can’t pay and God’s great love for us gives us the greatest gift ever given, everlasting life. Jesus becomes our “propitiation for sin”. We are redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb. We want to join Him in His death burial and resurrection to rise and walk in a new life of the Spirit. The sinner is on the other side of the law of God, Romans 3:23, The sinner has to submit to God in Faith, The idea that an unbelieving unrepentant person is baptized is not in the NT. The idea of a person refusing to be immersed and expecting for the forgiveness of sin is not found after the Cross. How does this faith come? By hearing the Gospel? How beautiful are the feet. Know how your divided denominations theology was developed before the rise of the Roman Empire’s religion. The “Faith only” have followed Calvin and Luther in Zwingli’s Error. It is history. The American institutional divided denominational “church” has had 200+ years to get right with God. Instead, the daughters of the whore of Babylon have argued and split over every new teaching the deceiver has twisted to meet their agendas of power and control since the Age of the Apostles. Millions have believed the “Hired hand” reverends, doctors, who should be our shepherds, yet failed to unite on the ancient Way, instead they make up new doctrines based on man’s wisdom and eloquence. Come be one Body, one Faith, one Baptism. Eph 4:1-6, Teach “Sound Doctrine” Titus 2: based on Acts of the apostles. Not some latterday theologian dancing to the devil’s tune. You do know the history of your faith back to the Apostles teaching, don’t you? History can be verified. Some just don’t know and some don’t care, in apathetic ignorance. Jesus sez” do the first works” Abraham Obeyed https://www.biblestudytools.com/nas/passage/?q=heb+5:9;heb+11:8 Note that Hebrews use “All who obey Him”

undefinedThese guys were rolling! they had God in a cart, music, dancing, and happy times. How does that work out? The fans love the religious action until the bad stuff happens and your faith in the little gods fails. 2 Samuel 6 a new Cart! King Josiah found the Word of God stored in the temple, lost to memory of the priests charged with the care. Jesus went around the synagogues casting out demons. Just because it is said to be a holy place does not mean God agrees.

When we read any news and we tend to use a global view of BBC, CNN, Fox and Drudge report. The others are interesting. How they all fit the news to their agenda. Much like we use the Word of God to fit our profile, tradition, or belief system. With out a common foundation to be One Faith* we are not in the Word but dragging our temple where we thought our god was, but he ain’t dealing like that! He is not a human or magical mythical Greek/Roman god. For some reason, only the Mind of God knows He loves His creation. Most Greek-Roman gods were oblivious to human needs or want that did not further their schemes. As Paul told the court of Athens, ” God loves you even if you don’t know His name” Acts 17 records the court of Aerogapahus as being the high court of Athens, evidence of history records this court with the power of a death sentence for teaching contrary views. Ref; Socrates, tried and sentenced * Eph 4:1-6

Grace is misunderstood by some because latter-day, after 120AD or so the theologians decided that the Word of Grace was too simple for their needs. During different eras and times, many empires have used choice tenets of local or foreign religions to control the people they wished to rule. The rulers of nations quickly discovered if they could control the religion they could control the people. History and many reliable verifiable sources now expose the raw truth of where we have been, how did we get so far away from the New Covenant message of Jesus as Messiah prophesied by Isiah to both the Jew and the Greek, The offer is to as many as he will call by His Gospel. That is everyone BTW, not just you or me. The Old Testament has many examples of how easy it is for the elect to be deceived into thinking they are Elect and nothing can happen to them even in open sinful rebellion as in the time of Josiah. We can be sure as Elijah was reassured there were those that never bowed a knee to Baal, but many do! God has compassion on them but must be Justified as our Mighty God is a jealous God. Here are three pieces of evidences of the use of the word “Again” (Gk Palin) to demonstrate that the elect can fall away. Luke 15:24; Romans 11:23; and Hebrews 6:6

Is our Wonderful Counselor leading us into all Truth, Wisdom, and Knowledge or into a bookstore for the latest message from God that somehow has been hidden forever until a guru, latter-day prophet or theologian reveals it for a fee. Or has listened to all the voices of people shouting “Over Here!” Jesus is here! Is there a fee? Is there secret knowledge? Is there a special set of verses that have to be “interpreted” or does a creed layout all the tenets of the upper councils. Is there a “Prophet” that claims apostle, superior, or reverend status by title and authority? Is there a “Sacred” temple, building, altar, Bible or physical object/thing that must be worshiped, prayed to, or respected because of? Is there an office or function outside the Acts and letters describing a servant other than elder, deacon, servant, teacher, shepherd/pastor/preacher, evangelist? If Jesus is our Chief Shepherd how many dirty feet does a common shepherd have to wash? We are a Royal Priesthood. How does one apply for a position in the Kingdom? Does the Holy Spirit lead into all Truth? Does the Holy Spirit give all power? Who is between you and these blessings. 1 Tim 2:5, When you cry “Abba, Father” who answers you? 1 Peter 1:22

Grace is “This is the meaning of faith in Ephesians 2.8: a faith that works. It involves a full surrender to Christ and this genuine faith will always be accompanied by the evidence of obedience, James 2.14-26. Abraham obeyed and believed in Hebrews 11. If a person claims to believe, but does not obey, Jesus sez don’t be a goat about it obey! Luke 6.46. Hey Church of ____________”Repent and do the first Works” sez, Jesus.

Grace means gift, Charis in Greek”We work from grace, not for salvation. Our obeying actions is the response to God’s work in us.”

As Jean and I traveled around these past 47 yrs as a couple serving God in the Way. We visited/served with many congregations, groups, ministries. We were overjoyed to discover followers of Jesus among the many fans of Jesus in many places. We always sought out the obedient ones that love without measure, walk in the Light, like good sheep, we don’t hang with goats. We believe that if we were in danger of fire our friends might warn us, our enemies will mock us, the pious self-righteous will walk the other way, ignoring us. Our brothers and sisters will reason with us and teach us until we are of “Like mind” saying the same things in Love. As Aquilla and Pricilla taught Apollos the Way more clearly we do likewise.

“For this reason, I bow my knees before the Father,  from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man,  so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,  may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,  and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.  Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,  to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and everAmen.”
https://www.biblestudytools.com/nas/ephesians/3.html

simple gospel was once for all delivered, “A plowboy could read it and understand what he read” was said of the New Testement that was printed in the 1400s. we did not have to wait for a reformation of anything pagan when we only need to restore the first works, the love one anothers, do sheep stuff, not goat stuff. Acts stuff, not the first book of opinions. https://saltlightministry.com/

We could swap these all day and not change a Calvinist mind until the Holy Spirit removes the blinders that show they are following St Augustine. We follow Jesus the Mighty God and Wonderful Counselor is all we need. The rest is religion. John 15:6; Romans 11:19-22; 1 Corinthians 9:27; Galatians 5:4; Hebrews 3:12; 6:4-8; 2 Peter 2:20-21.

We taught public school in a vocational technical high school the surrounding county school would ship students in to our building for the various technical arts. We had a log hallway at the Tech High School and busses would drive up at one end and each class of 20-30 kids would fill the halls to get on the bus. At the end of the hall was a fire alarm and the students would sometimes pull it. Firemen would come and replace the glass and fuss out the principal and complain to the superintendent of the extra work of responding so often. The fire chief wanted a criminal charge brought on the student culprit. It is breaking the law and a felony, It is serious. One year after the third event with the trucks and all. The students got a kick out of the fire trucks and all the fuss. Our high population of special needs students and troubled kids made the alarm a challenge until it was pulled one time too many. We took a differential axle that had burned out apart in class. The black grease in the burnedout remains was very sticky and shiny black. I smeared a teaspoon into the trough of the fire alarm. The firemen left the glass out and we were instructed to call and rearm ourselves, after all we were the Tech High. We had to report every alarm but now the students did not get a break and fire trucks. One day the alarm went off and there at the end of the hall was a special needs young mans trying to remove a black stain on his fingers, he managed to smear it all over the wall, his clothes and his other hand. When he saw me coming he laughed and held up his hands. He knew he was guilty and caught with no way of removing the evidence. That is me and you, no matter when the bell rings on our life we are sinners with stained flesh that may not approach God and must be pardoned as the guilty are by the full payment for our crimes.

We have used the last few years of this season of our life to rediscover the Truth of our new birth and the Way as we had wandered off the path in our search for the Ekklesia of God or as St Augustine wrote a “City of God” or as Jesus said “A city on a hill”

When my sins, my filthy rags of my rightness seem to me to be a little cleaner than the bloody rags of your rightness, I have failed to love you as Jesus does. God never approves sin or allows us to bring sin into the Throne room. His great Love is equal to His Justice. The shame is trying to approach a Holy God with sin in our heart. Repent and do the first works, Have a clear conscience. All lust is sin as is eating to excess, lies, slander, hate, Matt 22:29

Calvin is said to be the daddy of Once Saved Always Saved. Read the Word as taught here,

http://lavistachurchofchrist.org/LVarticles/IsOnceSavedAlwaysSavedABibleDoctrine.html

As most denominations followed the error of Zwingli as did Calvin, Luther and Wesley, we often find some that refuse baptism in water by immersion because of this teaching that began with St Augustine. If any would like to debate this as reported in ignorance as #3 we would be happy to. First reject your denominational teaching and commentators to read without blinders the 12 or so conversions in Acts. Can we reason together? or are we divided? Eph 4:1-6 One. Romans 1:5 Read all the verses like this one that mentions Obedience, not works! or baptism regeneration but the simple gospel of obeying our King. Acts 2:37-38, Acts 5:32 Know the history of your traditions, rules and rituals. Are they New Wine or old stale beer?

God is Spirit, we must worship in Spirit and Truth, the flesh is nothing John 6:63, Jesus the Messiah and the Father are one, The Holy Spirit is poured out by the Father Acts 1:4, Promised delivered Acts 2, to those that hear the Gospel and believe, confess Jesus as Lord! Rom 1:5 obey as sinners to be immersed for the gift of the Holy Spirit and the forgiveness of sins. Simple Gospel One God Eph 4:1-6, The reason you or me can’t explain the 3 in 0ne to make human wisdom match God’s wisdom, Logos

Our search led us far and wide into many camps and tribes. All claiming to be the people of God. Some were divided into camps of a tribe that favored fish, this tribe is big and takes up lots of space on the river keeping others from the bounty. The hungry clamor at the gate for fish to eat. The meat is important for life. The Thirsty are lined up and only see a dry land near the river where these camps are. The tribe’s leaders say that none but the little gods the big god has blessed can eat the fish not mere sinful humans. Some times the little people are told “go away we will select some more special people tomorrow” and the hungry leave very thirsty for the pure water of the river God promised them in His Word. Some camps of this tribe share fish scraps and some camps block access to the river of life as they squander the gifts the river gives. Some camps claim to have free water but upon looking at it in the light we see many dark things floating in their water. Some camps even say the river is dried up and the fish are gone. Some dig new canals to control the river and fail. Some tap underground sources for a look alike water that slowly deceives, divides, and kills the taste of the water. Some camps charge for looks at the water in the river and sell muddy cups in old containers of the water they say came out of the pure river of God. Many are content to sip this muddy liquid a long as it sez on the bottle it came from near the river. We trust our brands, our traditions and live by the rules we like. We want our bible to fit our theology and will change camps and tribes to find a comfort zone. This is what happened to those disciples that left when Jesus told them how hard the choices will be, how to give, how to forgive, how to live. “Count the Cost” Jesus sez. We want a flat tax on a free ride home and minimum effort for return on investments. We want our life without hassle and Jesus as King sounds like a deal! We hire a hand to tend us and feed us. We fort up and enjoy our selves in our self righteous worship of what we can do on our own power and grand ideas.

Water of Life flow through your servants as you promised. Titus 3:5-7 reads, “…he saved us, not because of righteous things we have done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he

poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.”

Out of my mind

Thanks to Silas for how I feel sometimes with PTSD, depression, and Hope. Hope is not inside of us in our flesh or heart of disobedience to our King. Acts 5:32

We know we are old dogs but this is not by our power or our strength. We like you are loaded down with this world’s cares and demands. We pray for courage every day. thanks, to Gary Larson and our public schools where we taught for the image.

When we became schoolteachers I had to admit I could not do math in any fashion anyone would recognize but me. I could write repair orders and customer notes but relied on my wife to do any accounting or math. I had always used pictures to recall facts and drew notes by making cartoon type hiro graphics as one teacher called my scribbles. I would love to write you long letters in Shakespeare prose longhand but this what I have studied these past few days as time as allowed.

We enjoy Church History and have recently worked our way up to the 1900s We studied the Roman equipment and this short sword and the shield& spear are the battle weapons of the Roman Army this was like the M1 of WW2, you did not drop your rifle and run with out punishment. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gladius Enjoy!

Raised in the ideals of the Restoration Movement of the 1800s. We feel the restoring of the first practices and promises of the Apostles Doctrine is the only direction for the follower to go after careful examination of the current options to humans in God’s creation. The Reformation was an attempt by many good people to repair a broken system. Each of the great reformers (dividers) had bias, prejudice, and motives of power and control. The Kingdom of God is none of those things. God is not the author of confusion1. The reformers/dividers are the voices shouting over each other causing division over simple understandings of what Jesus clearly said and did. When we examine the claims of the divided denominations we are not convinced that unity, Oneness of the Body, or any of the One Faith is practiced outside of our favorite vChurch. Here is our favorite online for now group of church planters https://www.churchintensive.com/church-intensive-online

Most believers have a limited view of the Holy Spirit having been told by controllers that the Holy Spirit is asleep at the wheel since we have a perfect translation of the New Covenant or a perfect “Church” or that we should do signs and handle snakes. The Holy Spirit is too “Messy” for most pastors. We feel He is too Truthful for the fans on gameday.

11 Corinthians 14:33

What would she do?

The young lady and man in the painting from the wall of a house uncovered in Pompeii. We can speculate that this couple would have been familiar to Priscilla and Aquila in the first century. The woman’s stylus and tablet are symbols that displayed her confidence in education and status. They are the up and comers, the beautiful people of the city. Today would she fit in? Could you see them in a 40 under 40 spread in your cities magazine? What would you tell them about your God that would motivate them to reject their gods? What can your God do that theirs can not?

Couple from Pompeii

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portrait_of_Terentius_Neo

Who these young people? Let’s imagine they are your new acquaintances. The picture is from a mural in the 79AD destruction of Mt. Vesuvius of the Roman cites. The painting was obliviously commissioned by what would be considered wealthy owners to adorn the walls of their villa/bakery. Maybe they were the owners. Maybe they were young during that era of Roman Empire. Exciting times! Nero had been in power, Titus, Caligula, Domitian and many wars and rumors of war. We will assume your husband is wealthy and a player in fashion with his gold trim toga. He is holding a sealed document, He must be educated, important in his world. The Roman lady is standing in the fore of the painting, dressed in purple with much gold, a valuable to her husband, a woman of education and power, perhaps a royal dressed in purple? Women in the Roman World had much privilege and could do many things a Hebrew woman could not by law. Click on the image to learn the history from archaeology.

Your new acquaintances are owners of a bakery you frequent. They are Romans, the influence of Greek culture is the fashion of the day. Here are some of the assumptions one might assume They are Pagans believing in many gods, much as the people of Mars Hill in Athens or liberals today. Like the pagans around them the free citizens of Rome enjoyed a somewhat upper middle to rich classes. Slaves were a very high percentage of the population, most were bond slaves dues to poverty as war slaves were used in the mines and criminals in the galleys of the Navy. Spartacus is a true story! Crucifixion was a common punishment for slaves. As Rome conquered the known world they absorbed all pagan religions as useful tools of the state. Later Rome would develop a city/state organization to rule all the gods, with one man via other men ruling all men so they can control kingdoms, empires. Every religion was adapted to fit the life style of the Roman, to meet the needs of the state/empire. If you did not follow the rules of worship of the emperor or what ever the favored god/temple was in that city, you were subject to shunning, fines, slavery, death. You could not buy or sell without the approval/seal of Rome. The pagan priest were officers of the state, by 450 ad this system of state run “Visible Church” “AKA vChurch” was the official state church, with none other allowed until rulers got powerful enough to split off their own brands . These gods are no different than the pagan gods of the nations around God’s people all the time on earth via the power of the eater of dust. As we are dust in our flesh, that benefits us nothing when we try and save, preserve or embellish it. We are as these young people enjoying the smell of their bakery and the beautiful day. As pagans they will have vague beliefs depending on what is the latest pop religion or which temple has the best festivals/services/parties. The philosophers that influenced their daily lives as Greek/ Roman pagans are still being taught in our colleges as words to live by.

What do you say to the couple? That stylus and sealed document would say educated literate able to reason. What do they need from you if you walked into their bakery in the year 78 ad?

Imagine that two married followers of Jesus, from Rome meet this couple what would they say to the couple? Would Priska speak to them the same message they gave Apollos? The humble fellow workers of Paul, they worked with their hands, are mentioned in Acts 18 read about them here https://www.biblestudytools.com/nas/acts/18.html

Where did Priscilla and Aquila go to “vChurch” ? https://www.biblestudytools.com/nas/1-corinthians/16-19.html

The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Prisca greet you heartily in the Lord, with the church that is in their house. (click on the words to find the Greek or more info)

What would the VChurch at Corinth look like? Corinth was a Roman Colony made up of retired soldiers and citizens of Greek and Roman cultures. What did they talk about in that first century?

What would give the pagans a reason to give up their pagan beliefs, renounce all, family, titles, names, their very life could forfeit for the simple gospel that God loves all His children? The volcano is rumbling, the couple sez “It always does that” “We will go to the temple to appease the gods” What can you tell them? Do young people today believe that the earth mother/nature controls the weather? Does Luck, chance, fate or do the laws God placed in the physical world for our health and comfort rule your walk/life?

The simple Gospel of 1 Corinthians 15 message involves no rules, rituals or need for special places, reverends, clergy, or temples, Read the words in any translation or the Greek the message is simple. God loves you so much He has bought you with a price beyond any thing physical or on this earth.

It is very hard to sell Buicks while riding a bicycle.

The temple is gone and Jews are being expelled from Rome. What can you say to the baker and his wife? The Gospel is finished, no additional work or added sauce to make it better. Jesus finished God’s plan on the Cross. You might do more but who are you trying to please God or man?

If we can know what the history of a movement was we can see what they did, what they said and what happened. What was the first 125 yrs of the Church like? These are some of the writers that have presented some interesting facts. I would not agree with everything they propose but it is very interesting when you can verify when the first discussion of something like infant original sin is discussed, before St Augustine and Zwingli messed it up for children. Jesus sez they are innocent and we should be like them in faith and trusting Him.

https://www.biblestudytools.com/nas/1-corinthians/15.html

What is the balance between the “Faith” and the “Baptism” of Eph 4:1-5, A study of Grace, an understanding of the Temple, Hint John measures the “Temple” in Revelations. That is the invisible Ekklesia . When we understand the Gospel message was final, “Once and for all delivered to the saints” We have no latter day message that contradicts or changes, alters the Gospel. Even angels can’t change it as they have tried. Men twist the message because it is too simple for controlling, anyone can be a temple of the Holy Spirit, The vessel has to be spotless and only one cleanser will work for my filthy rags. When my conscience is dirty, I want it scrubbed by God. Like these poor Romans, we will stand before God, we will see Him High and lifted up our knee will bow and our heart will be laid bare before our creator. Did we believe as Abram did? Hebrews reads; By faith Abraham, when he was calledobeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going. https://www.biblestudytools.com/nas/hebrews/11.html

So then, my belovedjust as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absencework out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.  Phil 2

Would you tell them the Truth of the Way and the Life?

Sound Doctrine Titus 2: Paul sez…….”Pastor”

http://www.wearechurch.com/ Watch the video!

The role that the “Clergy” play in the vChurch (visible church) clouds the meaning of the word we use for shepherd in the New Covenant. The actual position if we must rank people, shepherd (poimen) or “Pastor” is at the lowest rung, most humble position according to Jesus in the foot washing teaching He gave His disciples. If you don’t understand that story you won’t until you are humbled by God. If one wants to know their rank in the military or what the mission is we ask the commander. Jesus sez; “the first will be last, the least of these my Brothers and Sisters, Feed my Sheep” the lowest is the greatest”. We do not see any ranks in the order of vChurches until after the 2nd CE when smaller gatherings would seem to be depending on larger groups. “Pastor” is used one time as a word in Ephesians. Read the differing translations before you jump on the conclusion wagon. Read carefully before you have the flag/name tag made with your rank on it. Peter spoke quiet force-ably to the “Fellow Elders” The shepherds/elders he spoke to were warned; Not to do anything for money, personal gain or selfish ambition. The sheep analogy doesn’t work for you if you know little about sheep. Anyone that has owned and cared for sheep knows that people are like sheep, but the sheep are somewhat smarter, they will follow the leader that leads to food, shelter from danger and calm pastures. A shepherd knows you can not drive sheep except thru fear and pain. The Good Shepherd leads from the front. The “Hired Hand” may run in battle, the Warrior God has prepared never has to run. One vicious wolf can kill a flock of 50 sheep in a night. Peter warned of this in these verses (This predates the KJV, Who translated it?) “The elders which are amonge you I exhorte which am also an elder and a witnes of the affliccions of Christ and also a partaker of the glory that shalbe opened: se that ye fede Christes flocke which is amonge you takynge the oversyght of them not as though ye were compelled therto but willyngly: not for the desyre of filthy lucre but of a good mynde. not as though ye were lordes over the parisshes: but that ye be a insample to the flocke. And when the chef shepheerde shall appere ye shall receave an incorruptible croune of glorye. Lykwyse ye yonger submit youre selves vnto the elder. Submit youre selves every man one to another knet youre selves togedder in lowlines of mynde. For God resisteth ye proude and geveth grace to the humble. Submit youre selves therfore vnder the myghty honde of God that he maye exalt you whe the tyme is come. Cast all youre care to him: for he careth for you. Be sober and watch for youre adversary ye devyll as a rorynge lion walketh about sekynge whom he maye devoure: whom resist stedfust in the fayth remebrynge that ye do but fulfill the same affliccios which are apoynted to youre brethren that are in the worlde. The God of all grace which called you vnto his eternall glory by Christ Iesus shall his awne silfe after ye have soffred a lytell affliccio make you perfect: shall settle strenght and stablishe you. To him be glory and dominio for ever and whill the worlde endureth Amen. By Silvanus a faythfull brother vnto you (as I suppose) have I written brefly exhortynge and testifyinge how that this is the true grace of god wherin ye stonde. The companious of youre eleccion yt are at Babilo saluteth you and Marcus my sonne. Grete ye one another with the kysse of love. Peace be with you all which are in Christ Iesus.Amen.” Tyndale Bible Version, predates the King Jimmie version. Paul warned the elders. Jesus spoke of the “Hired Hand” we should be wary of. The warnings were for the shepherd to watch for wolves from among the flock that would teach false doctrine. We need to know another word to understand the teaching. Our walk is the life we live as we go through the world of time and space. We are in a “Tent” of a physical body. God is Spirit, we must understand the simple fact that God is “High and Lifted up” above everything.

The simple Gospel needs simple answers. Sound Doctrine Titus 2:

We must have a clear conscience before God; 1Pet 3:20-21, If this note from Peter gives you pause of confusion, I don’t laugh at your ignorance. I am sad that the simple Gospel of Jesus has been twisted by the divided denominated daughters of the whore of Babylon into Graceless or works based folly of religion. Please do a careful study of Grace.  http://jackcottrell.com/…/saved-by-grace-2-saved-by…/

Does your group practice “Sound Doctrine”? Titus 2:, 1 Timothy 6:3,Ths Gospel is simple for humble people. The one Law (Gal 5:14) we must obey is often overlooked in religions based on rules, rituals, and traditions. The RM has been divided since the first meetings over music, missions and bravo sierra that men made up for control. When elders and followers give up pride and wash feet instead of looking for specks in others’ eyes you may find unity. Grace is not how good we are but how forgiven we are.https://www.biblestudytools.com/nas/titus/2.html

When we form community, gather, assemble we disciple and make disciples by our message, the Gospel as defined in 1Cor15 as the death, burial and Resurrection of Jesus. The creed we claim to honor with our life is Ephesians 4:1-6. If we claim to be people of the Word we should study to show ourselves approved. If we follow sound doctrine we will disciple our neighbors, strangers we meet and those drawn to us by the life we live. 1 Pet 2 reads ” Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentilesso that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation.” Sound Doctrine is taught to the shepherds of the flock via the instructions Paul wrote in the letters to his two young disciples. Your group either follows the instructions or not. How does not following instructions work for the followers of Moses? We are firmly convinced that God is withholding His wrath only so that we can share this message.

We must be unified on “Sound Doctrine” Titus 2:1-10, We must follow one law Gal 5:14, We must be born of the Water and Spirit John 3. The Gospel is far more simple; Caring and loving than men’s doctrine. Sheep and Goats are separated by their deeds/works. We are saved by Grace for good works. The rest is rules and rituals of religion. Take a serious look at the basic course video on commands vs traditions and then listen to Chan in the next video. https://basicchurch.teachable.com/

47 yrs ago a follower of Jesus that preached to the hippies, homeless, lost children , runaways, druggies, gangs, and a few disciples on the mean streets of Atlanta Georgia, Jim Vernon gave me a copy of a New Testament that was written by a Bible College professor in the 1890s. The text is King James English and a side bar of revised standard. That is not what is important or interesting. The ministry is still going with the leadership shepherding as Jim planned serving the “Least of These” http://jesusplace.info/mission/ministries

The interesting points are that as I used the book as a resources for the classes we were learning of the New Testament (no I did not learn Greek), I barely made a d in English one semester. https://www.studylight.org/commentaries/pnt.html

The notes in the Johnson commentary of this book explained and made simple a lot of the question one might have. None of the professors or people I was with in those years disagreed with the book’s common sense explanations on the details of the New Covenant. One must realize the lens Barton Johnson was looking through was before our nationalist expansion was quite done, no major wars since the Civil War for America. The Mideast was a different world a Muslim world and Jerusalem had been deserted for years between wars that trampled the city and obliterated any trace of the city of David under rubble. Nations in 1890 looked to Great Britain for the largest Navy, biggest Army, Banking Center and leading government on Earth soon to reckon with it’s own sins of conquest and oppression of ethnic people for the good of England. This world of 1800s for the followers of Christ had no teaching on the “Rapture”, no clue that new cults, sects, denominations, and divisions that would arise over men’s teaching of errors. “Wolves will always be at the flock” The follower of Jesus used a simple Gospel for simple people. Barton Johnson visited the Mid East in the 1860s . The eyewitness reports he gives on the places in the NT that he visited is very good for the student to know how this culture was before later events and progress corrupted or helped it into the 20th Century. Walk through the Acts as the writer takes you to the places Paul traveled. The commentary. Here is a free online site that has the writings of many good people. https://www.studylight.org/commentaries/pnt.html You can download a copy here. https://www.ccel.org/ccel/johnson_bw/pnt.pdf

Do your “Shepherds” know the sheep by name, feed them the Bread of life, Drink with them from the Water of Life? In order for your group to have Clergy, reverends, higher than your status priests you must go out side of the writings of the first 100 years after the Resurrection of Jesus. The Gospel of the Apostles doctrine was radical, crazy, foolish to the “wisdom of the world” and based on simple people with no special gift that is not available to everyone in Christ. Read my previous on the Holy Spirit, I have watched people levitate and appear to rise from the dead. Your gathering has shepherds in place if it is in any way organized past the basic discipleship phase of 2 or more, the more being important to numbers people, apparently not to God. Elijah did not mind being the only servant, he just did not want to be alone without God. Always the number of the Ekklesia was more than one, the flock was disciplining, growing, dynamic. What did the evil one do? Divided us! The shepherd knows his sheep, feeds them by his hand and leads them to living water. Clergy follows rules, rituals, and traditions of men. Learn your history, please. The Gospel is far simpler than some would want.

We are either the slave or master of something. We either follow “Sound Doctrine” or not. Our obedience defines our deeds and thereby defines our understanding of grace. Ephesians 2: “for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, [it is] the gift of God;9 not of works, that no man should glory.10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.” Where are you walking? Titus 2:1-10 what is sound doctrine? Read Titus for answer.

Billybob Bojangle

Billybob Bojangle Grace is not how good we are at keeping laws but how forgiven we are by obeying Jesus, not by works of the law. Obeying Jesus is an action we take to be right with God. The faith only crowd would tell Abraham to stand, don’t move God will save you anyway. Abraham was made right because he obeyed in faith the Word of God. We are saved by the faith we have not by proxy or doctrine of man’s will.  http://jackcottrell.com/…/saved-by-grace-2-saved-by…/

Being forgiven is a gift, not a title of rank. We are servants of Jesus, yet a royal priesthood of the “least of these” of equal rank. That is what “Wash Feet” means. Keep your shoes on it is a metaphor.

Peter writes that we are a “Royal priesthood” a “Chosen Nation” selected for service in the Kingdom. Paul calls individuals ambassadors for Christ and hands over the “Ministry of reconciliation” to you and me. Click on the underline to check the reference or source of quote.

When Jesus washed the disciples feet as they were arguing who should sit where based on rank and Satan had filled Judas with bitterness over the waste of Spikenard by the woman, we see in action what Jesus will, does and has done many times with His bitter tears. Jesus will pick up our muddy, filthy feet and wash the world’s dirt from our life. (Hebrews sez Jesus’ blood sacrifice paid it all) Sometimes He uses the rod of discipline on me, sometimes it is His staff pulling me back from the danger I just do not see because of the bright lights and glitter of the golden idols the world has for me.

I found these 10 quotes on a clickbait site. I quote Dietrich Bonhoeffer and add a thought of my own numbered and bold before Dietrich’s. The more I study the writings of God I find gentle souls that looked outside the box. Especially today when many realize that the often lukewarm worship of entertainment and the sage on a stage is not fellowship with Jesus we see in the Gospels or the Ekklesia in Acts or the letters. I hear many voices saying similar things. Numbers say the mainstream model is broken in many places and for far too many sheep that are wandering. I pray for unity. Unity will take the Holy Spirit to melt prideful hearts and gently break soft ones. It is time to restore the unity of community!

Mr. Bonhoeffer was a martyr during the NAZI occupation of Europe.

1. Mutual respect for another means I love you too much to sin against you or God in your presence or to allow you to continue in sin against others or God. Not about judging, but about saving.

“Nothing can be more cruel than the leniency which abandons others to their sin. Nothing can be more compassionate than the severe reprimand which calls another Christian in one’s community back from the path of sin.”

2. Jesus was/is a friend of sinners, lived with the poor and least of these. Who is going to serve the “least of these”, dones, nones, ?

“Jesus Christ lived in the midst of his enemies. At the end all his disciples deserted him. On the Cross he was utterly alone, surrounded by evildoers and mockers. For this cause he had come, to bring peace to the enemies of God. So the Christian, too, belongs not in the seclusion of a cloistered life but in the thick of foes. There is his commission, his work. ‘The kingdom is to be in the midst of your enemies. And he who will not suffer this does not want to be of the Kingdom of Christ; he wants to be among friends, to sit among roses and lilies, not with the bad people but the devout people.”

3. Being forgiven is a gift, not a title of rank. We are servants of Jesus, yet a royal priesthood of the least of these of equal rank. That is what “Wash feet” means.

“If my sinfulness appears to me to be in any way smaller or less detestable in comparison with the sins of others, I am still not recognizing my sinfulness at all. … How can I possibly serve another person in unfeigned humility if I seriously regard his sinfulness as worse than my own?”

4. We can build a church of sticks and bricks, or as Jesus did with living stones on the foundation of the Rock of Ages.

“The person who loves their dream of community will destroy community, but the person who loves those around them will create community.”

5. Prayer in the name of Jesus separates the Ekklesia from the “religions of the world”. Our redeemer lives!

“A Christian fellowship lives and exists by the intercession of its members for one another, or it collapses. I can no longer condemn or hate a brother for whom I pray, no matter how much trouble he causes me. His face, that hitherto may have been strange and intolerable to me, is transformed in intercession into the countenance of a brother for whom Christ died, the face of a forgiven sinner.”

6. Be prepared to be used, if one time like Ananias with Saul or thousands like Phillip.

“We must be ready to allow ourselves to be interrupted by God. God will be constantly crossing our paths and canceling our plans by sending us people with claims and petitions.”

7. “Tame the tongue” Train the ear! This one is mine. James sez “rudder” as in control your boat. Paul sez we can control the tongue

“There is a kind of listening with half an ear that presumes already to know what the other person has to say. It is an impatient, inattentive listening, that despises the brother and is only waiting for a chance to speak and thus get rid of the other person. Christians have forgotten that the ministry of listening has been committed to them by Him who is Himself the great listener and whose work they should share. We should listen with the ears of God that we may speak the Word of God.”

8. Who are you compassionate about? Wash the feet of your brothers and sisters. Be kind to neighbors. There is a difference.

“The Christian, however, must bear the burden of a brother. He must suffer and endure the brother. It is only when he is a burden that another person is really a brother and not merely an object to be manipulated. The burden of men was so heavy for God Himself that He had to endure the Cross. God verily bore the burden of men in the body of Jesus Christ.”

9. God is in the details, watching.

“Who can really be faithful in great things if he has not learned to be faithful in the things of daily life?”

10. Thankful, and able to be thankful of others.

“If we do not give thanks daily for the Christian fellowship in which we have been placed, even where there is no great experience, no discoverable riches, but much weakness, small faith, and difficulty; if on the contrary, we only keep complaining to God that everything is so paltry and petty, so far from what we expected, then we hinder God from letting our fellowship grow according to the measure and riches which are there for us all in Jesus Christ.”

Got to work on these! pray for your neighbors!

living tongue after the canon was closed and translated into one or two languages. By that means the sense of its words changes no more; and we have a fixed language of immutable meaning and of all authority, preserving and perpetuating the will of God to

It is all fun and games until someone brings up Theology

My neighbor is the closest person to me. Is that including wifi? I am studying how social media affects this and praying for guidance that God’s promise of His Word will not be carried, prayed, cursed in vain. I hear so many voices, so many gurus and PhDs, right and left reverends abound. “Savage wolves” attack the very flock Jesus has blessed them with. The latest fashion in Babylon will be worse than millstone necklaces if God’s wrath is not paid. Is the voice we should hear drowned out? Example, a pastor preaches the apostles drove Hondas, because it is in the Bible. Right? Well it does say they were in one accord, but! No! but because someone with a wonderful web site and slick production sez it on youbob it must be true. I use John 21 as an excuse to go fishing, and I do hope to meet Jesus on the beach to share breakfast and talk about those fishing tips He gave the disciples. Is that “Church”? I do not want to miss it for the world! If Jesus, as the Wonderful Counselor, is not the High Priest of your priesthood of obedient disciple believers who is? Where will your wisdom come from? The Ark? The Temple? Where is your light O Israel? “Walk in the Light” Where is our bread? “Bread of Life” Where is our God’s Temple? Where did that ritual/rule come from? Which covenant? Does it follow flesh? or Grace? Jesus said the Holy Spirit will teach us. How does that work ? Does He speak thru His Word? John 14, Peter sez we are a royal priesthood a holy nation. We are to be one in Christ. Ephesians 4, Col 2, Gal 3, Acts 2, If we are divided and bitter we fail to love our brothers and sisters. If we consider our rules and practices the “Way” it better be the only “Way”. The danger is that teachers have the burden of being right with God. As a former builder of race cars and vehicles I know precision. How precise was God’s instruction to Noah? Moses? I am fed up with denominational bravo sierra that divides and shuns difference in opinion. Essentials are simple, Paul sums it up in Galatians 5. One law to rule them all. I am going to start a study on James. I want to know how a common Jew that was convinced his brother was crazy can come to the realization of the resurrection and pay for the Faith he has in his own half brother with his life as recorded by Josephus. If any one deserves the medal for courage under fire, James was ordered stoned by the same priests of the temple that did away with their King as he knew as his brother by Mary. Question? Why did Jesus hand over Mary’s care to John and not his half brother James or Jude? Jude, another brother by the same mother who followed his crazy brother to martyrdom we are told in later writings that may be legend. The cult of Mary does not start appearing in writing until much later in the middles ages. Google the facts! James was painted the wrong colors by Luther and later Calvin. James deserves better than that. Luther never understood James and that is a shame for Luther’s theology became so popular the German people could claim to be Christian and kill Jews. I read Luther’s bio on audible and a bio on Paul by N.T. Wright, who writes a very interesting book on Jesus as the Messiah. N.T. is an Anglican Church of England elder, I consider him a good scholar if disobedient brother. I have really enjoyed reading https://www.amazon.com/Will-Theologians-Please-Sit-Down on kindle. Verify all the Spirits voices!
A study of James will remove the bias that Paul and Peter seem to have. This has led many astray in understanding of Grace, obedience and into mixed up covenants. How could James not know who Jesus was, is and is to be? James may or may not have written Hebrews but as the shepherd of the ekklesia of Jerusalem he was well aware of the challenges of the early congregations that once were enemies are now to be One with Jesus as He is with the Father. We are to be one. If we believe in Jesus we must love him and love God, forsaking all others. We must do the next part of the command of Jesus as one law for if we love God we will love and honor His creation. We are so divided over theology and stuff that won’t matter on judgment day. How can we have unity without compromise? Our “Church” Ekllesia, congregation, worship group, prayer groups either honor Jesus Christ as Lord or not. more…….later.

The Word is not the book we now call the “Bible”. The Word or Logos is explained by Paul better than most in several of his letters. Here are some examples. click to see resources cited.

Col 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. 21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight– 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.

Jesus used the word Temple in two places in John the second chapter. one place the Greek word describes a building a structure reserved for deity. The other refers to the spirit the presence of God in the sanctuary in the holy of holies. Click here if interested in studying of the Greek Word for temple.

Ministries We Recommend

DSCF0277Even this crab has a place to be cared for.

We are a self-supporting ministry that believes followers should give to neighbors in need and support ministries that serve others as Jesus did helping the poor, seeking the lost and supporting the orphan, widows and homeless. We encourage you to give using the model of 2 Corinthians 9 with a cheerful heart knowing we can never out give God. The Kingdom is not about money and grand temples, God has no use for those, John 6:63. “Count the Cost” Jesus sez, Luke 14 esp v33 Did he say everything? No, Just your treasure. The Holy Spirit can’t fill a heart that is full of treasure of any kind.

Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” Matt 19:21 https://www.biblestudytools.com/matthew/19.html

We support and recommend these ministries:

Jesus Place Inner City Mission Atlanta Georgia  http://jesusplace.info/ministries

We served with Jesus Place as interns in 73-74 while attending Atlanta Christian College. Jim Vernon started this mission to the homeless lost of the streets of Atlanta. If you have a heart for the street people, homeless, poor this is your kind of ministry.

If you have a heart for new born babies and expectant moms and hate murder. This ministry cares for the mom before and after the birth. Needed now more than ever as abortion is now a medical procedure to have doctors that kill babies legally according to the law of our nation. It is a sad day when a nation abandons their One True God for the gods of the deceiver who tells them it is fine to kill the unwanted, unneeded and poor. 2 Tim 1:7

The Inn Ministry of Jacksonville provides a home for new and expectant mothers as an alternative to less than desirable conditions and abortion for all women http://www.innministry.org/

Don’t let Molech have another child. Jeremiah 32:35 Our God hates this practice Lev 20:3

Five Star Veterans center of Jacksonville Fl. http://www.5starveteranscenter.org/

Five Star is a nonprofit homeless shelter for Veterans provides a full range of services to restore the person to an active life off the streets. Semper Fi!

We would love to do more for many more. We are small but our power is full in the Spirit. Acts 1:8

We give our time to non profits that are following Jesus and of the same mind, teaching the Apostles doctrine from the word. not latter-day man’s wisdom. We feel the best way to restore the New Covenant model is to practice the things they did. If one pays the Temple tax or Tithe where does the money go? The average “tithe” goes to staff, buildings, overhead for entertaining the fans. What percent helps the “Least of These?” We know each cent we share is handed to Jesus first and with the blessings in both directions, each is loved by God. Our bodies are the acceptable sacrifice. We can give our time, skills to help others, or we just write a check. If we do , much like paying a bill it becomes a chore. When we give all to God, time, body, possessions, life we are free to serve. Our altar is on our knees, our Temple is our body, we are the Royal Priesthood. We are to make disciples of Jesus, not clones of people we admire. The rightness of all men is filthy rags.

We feel the American institutional model of “Church” has lost it’s way. A Restoration of the first works, the reform did not work, Restore the ancient path. The one way.

Over 200 years of preaching unity, praying for unity and all we do is divide over doctrine. Eph 4

If a model is not broken why fix it? a simple Gospel is more like Jesus than the high church corporate model that acts like a business. Might be efficient or not depending on who is judging.
